I don’t know about you, but when I read a few weeks back that Shane McGowan had got a group of his friends together to make a charity single for Haiti, my first thought was, “YAY!”, my second was, “Holy crap, he’s with it enough to know that there was a devastating earthquake in Haiti? Amazing!”

I was more than a little excited when I read that Nick Cave, Chrissie Hinde and Johnny Depp would be performing on it as well (not to mention quite a few other artists). I’d heard the one Simon Cowell had put together and was under whelmed by it and had no interest in buying the effort put out in the US, no matter how great the cause. I’m so glad there has been one made for those of us whose taste in music is a little less mainstream…
